
MGT-319: Medical Counter Measures of POD Planning & Response

Course Description: This training course is to enhance jurisdiction preparedness and emergency response efforts by providing the knowledge of how to exercise and revise a plan that utilizes an all-hazards, whole community approach toward a medical countermeasures event. Assists with coordination of planning, training, and responding to a Medical Countermeasure (MCM) response for a public health incident. This course responds directly to the National Preparedness Goal; as it applies to delivery of medical countermeasures to exposed populations.
Target Audience: The target audience for the course will encompass primarily the following professional groups: Public Health; Health care and ancillary service groups; Law Enforcement (LE); Emergency Medical Services (EMS); Fire service; Emergency management organizations whether Tribal, City, County, State & Federal; Public works; Public Safety communications; Educational community; Private industry, Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Support Services: IT and Clerical
Course Prerequisites (Mandatory): Must obtain and possess a FEMA/SID Number, bring copy of the SID number to class. Register for FEMA/SID number at GET A FEMA SID
* Course Prerequisites (Recommendations): Medical Countermeasures Awareness for Public Health Emergencies (AWR-314-W) and Familiarity with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS) via completion of study courses IS-100 & IS-200 (or equivalents)
