Special Course Note: This course is one of four (4) courses within the TEEX Infrastructure Disaster Management Certification Program. All 4 of these courses are scheduled to be hosted at the Northampton County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during 2024. The three (3) other courses and their scheduled dates are:

  • Disaster Management for Water & Wastewater Utilities (held on February 7th & 8th)

  • Disaster Management of Public Services – MGT-317 (scheduled to be held on May 14th & 15th)

  • Disaster Management for Electric Power Systems – MGT-345 (scheduled to be held on June 17th & 18th)

*Attendees DO NOT have to attend all four (4) of the courses however, if attendees DO COMPLETE all 4 of the Critical Infrastructure Disaster Management courses they are then eligible to apply for the Infrastructure Disaster Management Certificate. Recipients will receive a 10×13 certificate of Professional Recognition suitable for framing. There is no cost for the program.

Course Description: This course brings together individuals from the healthcare community who are responsible for ensuring the resiliency of healthcare services during high consequence or catastrophic events with a jurisdiction. Through a focus of preparedness processes and activities, this course provides an opportunity for participants to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to help them ensure the sustainability of their resources, facilities, and organizations during all types of disasters.

Topics include: threats to the community; fundamentals of preparedness; preparing the response; preparing the recovery and assessing your preparedness

Target Audience: Managers and healthcare managers/health department personnel; department heads, directors, assistant directors, and senior medical staff; regulatory personnel; local emergency planning directors/managers/emergency preparedness planning personnel and healthcare providers/emergency service managers/administrators

Course Prerequisites (Mandatory): N/A

Course Prerequisites (Recommended): IS-100PWb, IS-200, IS-700 & IS-800. Can find these courses online at: FEMA Independent Study courses
