Course Description: This course is designed to provide overall incident management skills rather than tactical expertise. The course will cover the implementation of the incident management process on type 3 incidents; define a type 3 incident, and the development of an Incident Action Plan (IAP). Determining capabilities to match incident complexity will be discussed. Learn how to add appropriate ICS positions to match the complexity of the incident will be explored. The use of the Incident Management Teams (IMT) will be discussed.

IS/ICS-100.b: Introduction to ICS

IS/ICS-200.b: Basic Incident Command System

IS-700.a: Introduction to National Incident Management System (NIMS)

IS-800.b: Introduction to the National Response Framework

Course Prerequisites (Recommended): Experience using concepts and principles from ICS-100, ICS-200 and use of skills in a response or exercise.

Additional Information / Notes: This class is FREE to all Northampton County Responders and paid for by the Pipeline Emergency Response Grant (PERG). For out-of-county responders, a fee may apply and will be determined by the number of students enrolled.
