• Tuesday, December 17th – 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Course Description: This course is designed to provide overall incident management skills rather than tactical expertise. This course will discuss how major incidents pose special management challenges. It will explore the circumstances in which an Area Command is established and describes the circumstances in which multi-agency coordination systems are established. This course is designed for senior personnel who are expected to perform in a management capacity in an Area Command or multi-agency coordination system.

Course Prerequisites (Mandatory):

• IS/ICS-100.b*: Introduction to ICS 

• IS/ICS-200.b*: Basic Incident Command System 

• ICS-300* *: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents

• IS-700.a*: Introduction to National Incident Management System (NIMS) 

• IS-800.b*: Introduction to the National Response Framework

  • * The above listed courses can be completed online by visiting FEMA Independent Studies (IS) site

  • * *ICS-300 course is ONLY available “in-person”

Course Prerequisites (Recommended): Experience using concepts and principles from ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-300 and use of skills in an operational environment.

Additional Information / Notes: This class is FREE to all Northampton County Responders and paid for by the Pipeline Emergency Response Grant (PERG). For out-of-county responders, a fee may apply and will be determined by the number of students enrolled.
