Special Course Note: This course is one of four (4) courses within the TEEX Infrastructure Disaster Management Certification Program. All 4 of these courses are scheduled to be hosted at the Northampton County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during 2024. The three (3) other courses and their scheduled dates are:

  • Disaster Management for Water & Wastewater Utilities (held on February 7th & 8th)

  • Disaster Preparedness for Healthcare Organizations within the Community Infrastructure – MGT-341 (held on April 2nd & 3rd)

  • Disaster Management for Electric Power Systems – MGT-345 (scheduled to be held on June 17th & 18th)

*Attendees DO NOT have to attend all four (4) of the courses however, if attendees DO COMPLETE all 4 of the Critical Infrastructure Disaster Management courses they are then eligible to apply for the Infrastructure Disaster Management Certificate. Recipients will receive a 10×13 certificate of Professional Recognition suitable for framing. There is no cost for the program.

Course Description: This course brings together planning and management officials who are expected to identify and mitigate hazards, and who plan and manage disaster response and recovery efforts or have emergency management roles within their jurisdictions. Public service stakeholders can extend their knowledge and skills for protecting their communities and critical infrastructure from potential or actual threats. During this course, participants work together in multidisciplinary teams to apply the course information with their professional experience in a variety of hands-on, small group activities, and disaster scenarios.

Topics include: threats to public services; disaster mitigation; disaster planning & management; disaster response & recovery and public information

Target Audience: Emergency management personnel; public works management; utility management; power providers, water authorities, utilities and public works personnel; healthcare and hospital management; public health officials; local emergency personnel; emergency planning directors & managers; emergency preparedness planning personnel; city planning; urban development and private sector stakeholders

Course Prerequisites (Mandatory): N/A

Course Prerequisites (Recommended): IS-100PWb, IS-200, IS-700 & IS-800. Can find these courses online at: FEMA Independent Study courses
