Course Description: Northampton County Fire School and Northampton County Emergency Management are sponsoring the State Fire Academy Flashover Simulator class. Firefighters’ lives may depend on the ability to recognize the signs of an impending flashover and being prepared to take action quickly and effectively. Many firefighters view flashover training as the most intense training of their career. The Flashover Simulator allows instructors to demonstrate fire behavior from incipient stage to flashover. Repetition of flashover training increases and stabilizes the firefighter’s knowledge and skills to recognize and handle this specific fire scenario.

Target Audience: Fire response personnel with proper prerequisites.

Course Location: Classroom work and practical work will be held at two (2) separate locations, see below:

• Classroom site: Palmer Municipal Fire Company Station #1 (North Station) – 3254 Old Nazareth Road, Easton, PA 18045 (Directions)

• Practical site: Palmer Fire Training Grounds – 1391 Lehigh Drive, Easton, PA 18045 (Directions)

• There are fourteen (14) seats available each day

• Fire departments are being asked to limit registrations to no more than two (2) students from each department at this time

• If vacancies are not filled closer to class – enrollment will be reopened to allow more students to fill the course
