COURSE IS A 2-HOUR TRAINING COURSE. Schedule is as follows:

Monday, February 9, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: The primary target audiences for this course are the Fire Responders (fire, rescue, emergency medical, police, telecommunicators, etc.) who will witness or discover a hazardous substance/materials release or a terrorist/criminal incident. Students will be trained to initiate an emergency response sequence by notifying the proper authorities of the incident. They shall have sufficient training or experience to demonstrate competency in objectively understanding hazardous substances, the risks, potential outcomes, and the ability to recognize and identify their presence. They must understand their role, including site security, safe scene management and how to use the latest version of the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT) Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG) during a hazardous materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) or a terrorist/criminal emergency.
MANDATORY PREREQUISITES:

Must have successfully passed either the HMAJB or HMA24 course.
RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITES: None listed.

Class will be held at the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company located at 920 Washington Boulevard, Bangor, PA 18013. (DIRECTIONS)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This class is FREE to all Northampton County Responders. For out-of-county responders, a fee MAY apply and will be determined by the number of students enrolled.
